Hi friends, it has been a whirlwind few months. My father Bill Zyp, known as our beloved Papa, passed away on Saturday, the morning before Resurrection Sunday. Here is the livestream link for his Celebration of Life service on Thursday, April 4th at 2pm PST. I’ll write more about his life in the weeks to come.

I took a job as a social studies teacher at Molalla middle school in 1990. Bill was one of the first teachers I met. We hit it off since I also was a college and high school basketball official. We officiated most of the middle school games in the area.
Kris was in my first 7th grade class that first year at Molalla.
I became the varsity football coach the next year. Bill and I always talked about the games through out the week. He usually had a a word or two of wisdom for me😁.
When I started doing Veterans Day programs Bill was proud to be part of them. We are both Vietnam war veterans. Bill got his quilt of value a few ago.
It was a pleasure to call Bill a friend and colleague.
Kari, words cannot say enough, it’s hard to type with all these tears in my eyes and snot running out my nose. Sorry, laughter and being the odd one keeps me going. I’ve had to deal with my biological parents passing a month apart from each other, then the rock I found in my step father of 50 years, I have empathy to you and family. I had the honor of being influenced by your father, much of the reason why I have officiated and umpired, and pursued a degree in PE and health. Fond memories of your family. Your dad being a teacher, seeing you all in church from time to time and being able to say I officiated one of the best men I’ve ever met, I officiated games his children played in. When the time comes, I can’t wait to see all my loved ones I miss because their in heaven, how joyful it will be when we get reunited in heaven, where there is only live and peace. Amen to that.
