Happy Thanksgiving!
What a new beautiful meaning this day has taken on for those of us whose lives have been transformed by the giving of thanks! Isn’t it true? I feel like this is the national holiday for the small country of us who have gotten hooked on gratitude and find ourselves addicted to this habit of praise. True, the world may have hijacked this day and tried to reduce it to a gluttony-fest and a prep-period for black Friday’s unbridled spending, but this day is a day for thanks. We can rejoice, give thanks, feast, and celebrate His goodness. We can enter His courts with thanksgiving.
Shall we?
And perhaps there’s no better time to begin a new habit of praise? If we begin tomorrow morning, first thing, and begin our daily list of thanks, we can practice 30 days of thanks and finish on Christmas morning by opening the greatest gift of all–the abundant life given to us in the person of Jesus Christ. We all know the carol-line:
Let every heart prepare Him room.
Shall we?
Let’s!
Let’s make room for Him in our hearts by making room for thanks. For 30 days we can make room for Christ to come, make room for Him to be birthed in our hearts, in our relationships, in our daily lives. By giving thanks daily from now until Christmas we prepare our hearts for the birth of our Lord.
Will you join us?
If so, consider these ideas to spread the love:
- Consider posting 30 days of thanks on your own site, facebook, twitter, etc.
- Consider listing a few of your daily thanks on Facebook each day, numbering if you wish, and watch the gratitude grow.
- Consider inviting others to join you, spread the word.
- Consider leaving a comment letting us know that you’re in for 30 days of thanks and one reader will receive 1,000 Gifts book. If you’ve already read it, pass it along to someone else!

Yay, so glad beautiful friend! I know you’ve already read it, but can I give you another copy of 1,000 gifts? Love you!
Kari – I am in awe of you. I was unaware of your website until Angela and I became friends on FB – I don’t spend much time there…but I am jumping in (albeit a few days late) for the 30 days. But, please don’t worry about the book – I will borrow from Angela in the future if she lets me!!! Your website is amazing – truly amazing – I don’t know how you do it all. Actually – I DO know how – with the strength of God 🙂
My humble thanks, Jonna
Oh Jonna, bless you. Nothing has me more in awe than someone who can work, raise a family, AND take care of my energetic 4-year-old in Sunday School. 🙂 I appreciate and admire you so much. SO excited you are here — Welcome!! Love, Kari
