I think there is a lot of truth in what she wrote. Really I think it boils down to understanding that kids are not yours….they are God’s. I think once people understand that a child is a person and therefore has a will of their own, it would help greatly. The thing I hope and pray for is that my children become whom God made them to be. I will help them the best I can, but really it is their choice to listen to God. I will do what I can. Show them as perfect of love as I am able, show them their areas of weakness and strength, tell them what God does and does not like…and pray. But they have the final answer. I as a human will damage them to a point. They will either allow that to cut them off at the knee, or they will allow God to use that for HIS glory. Really as with all things in life, it comes down to fully loving and trusting God…with my kids, with myself, with my husband, with my life. If I don’t do that, I am nothing. Because without God, life on this earth is for naught. I can only really change one person…and that is me.
